Atelier di Venice is a London specialist applicator of microcement and Venetian plaster for luxury interiors. The work is run as a controlled installation system: preparation first, a five-step process, and a limited number of projects each quarter. Luxury finishes are not simply applied. The system
How does the five-step system work?
Every microcement installation follows one system of five steps: technical assessment, surface protection, reinforcement and structural control, controlled application, and final quality inspection. Preparation comes first, because the assessment sets the preparation required and the preparation defines how the finished surface performs.

In the installation system
Technical assessment
Substrate condition, moisture levels, alignment and structural stability are assessed before any work begins. The assessment sets the preparation required.
Surface protection
Surrounding areas and adjacent finishes are protected before application begins.
Reinforcement and structural control
Joint sealing and fibre mesh reinforcement are applied to the substrate to control the movement that causes cracking in a thin coating.
Controlled application
The finish is applied in layers with precision alignment and clean edge detailing. Each coat is assessed before the next begins.
Final quality inspection
The surface is sealed and inspected, including every edge and joint, before completion.
Two years, in writing.
A 2-year written warranty is provided on microcement installations. This does not affect your statutory rights.

The process
How do projects run, from assessment to handover?
A project starts with an enquiry about the space and the finish. A final price follows a survey. Installation then follows the five-step system and ends with a quality inspection before completion. A microcement installation typically takes 3-7 working days and a bathroom 4-6 working days. Larger jobs are confirmed at survey.
Wet areas are resealed every 2-3 years and living areas every 4-5 years.
