Which finishes does Atelier di Venice install?
Atelier di Venice installs four services: microcement systems, Venetian plaster, bespoke architectural finishes, and reinforced lime walls and ceilings. Microcement suits floors, wet rooms and worktops. Venetian plaster and lime suit walls and ceilings. Each service is described below, and the two main services have their own pages.
Service 1
Microcement systems
Microcement is installed on floors, walls, wet rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, worktops, splashbacks, staircases and ceilings. Each installation follows the five-step process set out below.
Microcement is water-resistant once sealed; waterproofing comes from the tanking membrane beneath.
A microcement installation typically takes 3-7 working days and a bathroom 4-6 working days. Larger jobs are confirmed at survey.
Two years, in writing.
A 2-year written warranty is provided on microcement installations. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Service 2
Venetian plaster
Venetian plaster is applied to walls and ceilings in Marmorino, Stucco Lustro, polished plaster, metallic and textured or matte finishes. It suits walls and ceilings away from direct water. The written warranty applies to microcement installations.
Service 3
Bespoke architectural finishes
Bespoke finishes are developed with architects and designers. Where a project needs a finish of its own, tell us about the project and the finish, and it is developed with the project team.
Service 4
Reinforced lime walls and ceilings
A large-scale wall and ceiling system in reinforced lime. No prior plastering is needed. The surface is assessed first, as it is on every project.

Bespoke finishes are developed with architects and designers. Architects and designers who are specifying a surface can send the project details through the contact page, and the finish is developed from there.

Installation standard
How does the five-step process work?
Every microcement installation follows the same five steps: technical assessment, surface protection, reinforcement and structural control, controlled application, and final quality inspection. Preparation comes first because it sets how the finished surface performs. We take on a limited number of projects each quarter to hold that standard.
Technical assessment
Substrate condition, moisture levels, alignment and structural stability are assessed before any work begins. The assessment sets the preparation required.
Surface protection
Surrounding areas and adjacent finishes are protected before application begins.
Reinforcement and structural control
Joint sealing and fibre mesh reinforcement are applied to the substrate to control the movement that causes cracking in a thin coating.
Controlled application
The finish is applied in layers with precision alignment and clean edge detailing. Each coat is assessed before the next begins.
Final quality inspection
The surface is sealed and inspected, including every edge and joint, before completion.
